Prince George’s County is in a precarious position. We have the highest foreclosure rate in the state and one of the highest in the country. We do not have vibrant economic centers around our metro stations. We have crime that is far too high. Our County employees are stressed because they are being laid off, furloughed, and even fired while county services are being cut. Businesses are failing. We are in a State of Stress! District 6 needs someone who cares, feels and understands its pain. District 6 needs someone who will work hard to address these issues that far too many have neglected, even though they were granted the power and authority to do so. I have been actively addressing these issues consistently for over 20 years! I am not just talk–I deliver.
Prince George’s County has a lot of untapped potential. I am the person who can help to take our most beloved county to the next level. As a well- respected, long-time community activist, I will continue to fight vigorously for the citizens of District 6.
Together We Can, Will, and Must Do Better.
We must vote for the one person who has demonstrated for over 20 years that they have the vision to see what needs to be done, the courage to act, and the passion to fight long and hard for what we deserve. I am that person. I have demonstrated that I have the vision, courage, passion, and integrity that is needed to help us overcome or present circumstances. I have also demonstrated that I have the tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and soundness of moral character to be trusted with your vote.
Dr. Martin Luther King said, “Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve…. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” How true are the words of Dr. King!!!
You know me from my various roles of service as a community leader and activist. You have known me as the Vice-Chair of the Prince George’s County Democratic Party. You know me as an advocate for business where I fought for quality retail, quality sit-down restaurants, and commercial office development. You know me as a the chair of a non-profit agency that fights for the interests of the poor, senior citizens and anyone in pain dealing with home foreclosure, eviction, utility shut-off, or my advocacy for women and children needing a safe haven. You know me as a long-time strong advocate for career and tech apprenticeship programs in our public schools. You know me as a leading voice for change. You know that I have been consistent in my fight for Prince George’s County. You Know Me!
