Arthur is a graduate of the Prince George’s County Citizens Police Academy. This program is a community outreach service of the Prince George’s County Police Department and serves to foster respect, appreciation, and trust between the police department and the community. Arthur completed this 13-week program at the police academy which afforded him an opportunity to go through the same training the County Police go through–only in an abbreviated form.
Arthur has long been an outspoken and active supporter of the Prince George’s County Police Department.
In 1999, Maryland State Senator Ulysses Currie Nominated me to the Board of License Commissioners—Prince George’s County Liquor Board. The Maryland Senate confirmed my nomination and former Maryland Governor Parris N. Glendening appointed me to that post as a Prince George’s County Liquor Inspector.
There is no substitute for experience. The members of the organizations that I have been affiliated with have seen the value of my service and have elected me into leadership roles. I am not a “Johnny-Come-Lately”—I have a respected history and record of service. I am not talking about what I “will do.” Rather, I am building on the work that I have been doing for over 20 years. You do not need a title to serve—just roll up your sleeves and do the work.
I am ready to serve you as a Prince George’s County Council Member representing District 6.
“Together, we can do better.”
